01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Diners who came for kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) have singled out the freshly fried dishes and lotus root fries. Another guest particularly enjoyed the shrimp, and commented on the unusual combinations and generous portions of the creative skewers.

The menu includes shrimp and mehikari (greeneye fish), along with asparagus wrapped in meat and stuffed shiitake mushrooms. Choose from the skewers, then add small plates such as daikon with sansho pepper or pickled water eggplant for a change of pace. The listed prices are 100 yen each for shrimp and mehikari, and 450 yen for asparagus wrapped in meat. The menu makes it easy to order individual dishes and try a few.

One diner enjoyed the kushikatsu with beer, and small plates and alcoholic drinks are also available. Kushiichi is on Zaimokucho, just south of Sanjo on Kiyamachi Street. It is open from 18:00 until 2:00 the following day, except Thursdays, and accepts reservations.
